Click below on the four categories to read some general tips on how to best take care of yourself this November and beyond.
Schedule Time to do Nothing
Block out short periods in your calendar outside of work with no objective. Use this time to disconnect, sit quietly, listen to music or just let your mind wander without the pressure to be productive.
Practice Self-Awareness
Check in with yourself daily. Ask 'how am I really feeling?' Acknowledge your emotions, stress, happiness, frustration. Recognising your feelings is the first step to managing them.
Do Some Mind Clearing
Find a simple, repetitive activity that helps clear your head. This could be anything from organising, washing the car or doing the dishes. The goal is a mental reset.
Set Boundaries
Learn to say no to things that overwhelm you. Protecting your time is protecting your wellbeing.
Find Movement You Enjoy
Don't force yourself into a workout you hate. If the gym isn't for you, try hiking, cycling, a team sport or even just a brisk 20 minute walk during your lunch break!
Prioritise Sleep
Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night. Create a simple wind-down routine, like avoiding screens for 30 minutes before bed or reading a book, to signal to your body that it's time to rest.
Fuel Your Body
You don't need a perfect diet. Focus on small, sustainable changes. Drink an extra glass of water each day add one more vegetable to your dinner plate or cut back on one sugary drink.
Schedule Your Health Check Ups
Don't wait until something is wrong. Book your annual physical, dental and eye exams. Treat these appointments with the same importance as a work meeting!
Meaningful Check Ins
Go beyond the 'how are you?' text. Ask deeper questions, check in on what they've been up to recently.
Schedule Social Time
Life gets busy so intentional about scheduling a call with a friend, a regular game night or a monthly coffee catch up. Put it in the calendar so it doesn't get pushed aside.
Invest in Your Relationships
Make time for the people who matter most!
Be a Good Listener
When talking with friends or family, practice active listening. Put your phone away, make eye contact and focus on what they're saying.
Learn Something New
Invest 15 minutes a day into a new skill.
Review Your Goals
Once a month, take 10 minutes to review your personal and professional goals. Are they still relevant? Have you made any progress? This helps you stay aligned with what you want to achieve.
Acknowledge Your Wins
At the end of each week, write down one thing you're proud of, no matter how small. It could be a work achievement, a personal milestone or simply sticking to a new habit.
